3D printed gaming miniatures from UK makers

Updated 2026-08-22 · Focus: 3d printed miniatures

Tabletop players print minis for three reasons: cost per model, getting a character that looks like the one in their head, and filling a table with terrain without remortgaging. All three work well through a local maker.

Resin or FDM?

Resin is the standard for character miniatures. It captures faces, chainmail links and weapon edges that filament printing smooths over, and it is what you want for anything a player will look at closely.

FDM (filament) suits terrain, scenery, large monsters and bulk objective markers, where scale hides layer lines and the lower cost per gram matters more than fine detail.

Scale and sizing

Most systems work at 28–32mm heroic scale, measured to the eyes rather than the top of the head. Say which system you play and we will scale to match your existing collection.

Larger centrepiece models are usually printed in sections and assembled. Expect visible seams on very large pieces unless you ask for them filled.

Bases, supports and finishing

Tell us the base size you need — 25mm, 32mm, 40mm and 50mm round are the common ones — and whether you want the model pre-based or supplied separately.

Minis arrive with supports removed and, on request, primed ready for paint. Full painting is available as an add-on; ask for it at quote stage so it is scheduled in.

Licensing, briefly

We print your own designs, files you have bought a commercial or personal licence for, and models from creators who permit printing. We will not copy a company's proprietary sculpts.

If you are unsure about a file, send the link with your quote request and we will tell you before you pay.

FAQs

How much does a single miniature cost?
Individual resin character minis typically fall in the £6–£20 range depending on size and complexity, with batches cheaper per model. You get a firm price before printing.
Can you print a whole army or terrain set?
Yes. Batch jobs are quoted per unit and scheduled with a realistic date — tell us if you are printing towards a specific event or campaign start.
Do the models come painted?
By default they arrive unpainted, cleaned and support-free. Priming and hand painting are optional extras.
